Thomas M. Head

CEO at Childhood Cancer Society Inc.

It is a pleasure to write this reference. Megan is an absolute delight to work with. She is a very talented, thoughtful, and diligent individual who has been a valuable asset to our organization. She will make an invaluable member of any team she is a part of.

Megan's ingenuity has led to the growth of our Facebook group from 75 followers to 4,200 as well as contributing to the 400% growth in our Instagram following and the growth from 0 to 13,000 followers on TikTok.

Megan pioneered creative communication strategies such as challenges and fundraising campaigns which have contributed to our rapid growth. She is someone who looks at the challenges of the team as her own and will not rest until they are overcome.

Her most recent of many successes with us was to develop a podcast/video blog allowing us to showcase our incredible programs of helping families battling childhood cancer, which we are preparing to launch at a strategic time to coincide with other communication strategies we have implemented to maximize efficacy.

I welcome the opportunity to connect and discuss Megan's work product with us. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Former Teacher (Adjunct Assistant Professor at Wilmington University)

I have known Megan Andrews for eighteen years. I first met her when she participated in the Shakespeare performance workshops that I offered at the University of Delaware summer camps. Then I taught Megan at Padua Academy. Later she was a student in my public speaking course at Wilmington University. Now we stay in touch through social media. I am delighted to be a personal reference for Megan as she pursues new career ventures.

Megan displayed creativity, individuality, and leadership throughout our time together. I clearly remember when, as a grade school student, she courageously performed portions of Shakespeare’s plays at the University of Delaware 4-H Summer Camps. Megan has always been her own person. Even in her early teens, she did not succumb to peer pressure. She maintained her own likes and dislikes. Thoreau would say she “marched to the beat of her own drum.” In high school, Megan continued her creative interests. She learned to play the guitar and continued her love of music. She joined my high school Shakespeare performance classes and, for three years, led workshops for city elementary school children. Megan facilitated these workshops where the children got up and performed portions of Shakespeare’s plays. I depended on Megan’s leadership in these workshops. She led her teams flawlessly!

While Megan was pursuing her degree in media communications at Wilmington University, I again had the privilege of teaching Megan -- this time in my public speaking class. Megan demonstrated a solid platform presence, provided innovative speech topics, and maintained powerful delivery. Her unique communication style impressed me and her classmates.

I admire Megan Andrews’ determination and support her creative vision for career opportunities.

I am delighted to be Megan Andrews' reference as she applies for new opportunities.

My name is Sneha Kamath. Megan and I are colleagues at a non-profit called Childhood Cancer Society (CCS), where we both serve on the social media team. In a team of more than 50 individuals, Megan stands out as a leader who is not only passionate about creating content for social media, but also capable of helping others with similar interests develop their own technical and leadership skills. When I first joined the Childhood Cancer Society team, Megan’s contributions during meetings clearly communicated that she has a strong work ethic and a solid understanding of how to communicate our brand through social media. As a result, I decided that I would want to model my own involvement in the team after her, and she continues to inspire our more recent new members to do the same.

One of my earliest memories of Megan’s impact on our team is a fundraiser idea she developed independently in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Megan oversaw the entire process of organizing this fundraiser, from pitching the idea to the founder of our organization, to regularly advertising and promoting the fundraiser until its end date. This fundraiser project provides one example of Megan’s ability to coordinate communication across multiple teams in an organization, as well as her ability to execute an idea from start to finish. Since planning that fundraiser, she has continued to demonstrate her commitment to helping the Childhood Cancer Society grow. Just a few weeks ago, Megan proposed a hashtag-centered strategy for expanding the reach of our entertainment partner, Adventure Ted, on Instagram. After just two weeks of applying her idea, we have enjoyed an increase of more than 100 followers, and the increased engagement that comes with such growth. Her plan to grow our Instagram account is one she arrived at through independent reading and research, showing her willingness to continue learning about the position she is in, and to work off-the-clock to improve our organization.

Megan’s impressive understanding of the technical knowledge that would be necessary in a social media career is complemented by her character. Among some of the qualities that would make her an excellent addition to any organization include her adaptability, dedication, and supportive attitude. On our team, Megan is favored as a source of feedback given her ability to suggest how we can improve ideas in a way that is respectful and fair to the original creator of the idea. Megan consistently shows that she is equally capable of leading projects or collaborating in a team, which makes her a very valuable part of our organization.

There is far more I could say about Megan and why she would be an excellent job candidate than what can be included in this letter. If you’d like to know more about her and my experiences working with her, please contact me.

Testimonials from co-workers.

"Megan is an incredible leader. As my project manager, she communicated with me frequently and was thorough in her communications with me. She checked in with me regularly to ensure I had all the tools I needed to succeed. Her leadership skills are always evident - whether she is helping to lead meetings or when she is taking initiatives on projects. Last but certainly not least, she is extremely charismatic and hardworking. It has been a joy to work with her, and I'm excited to see her continue to positively impact people's lives in everything she does."

~ Katherine Brinkley, Project Manager at Childhood Cancer Society

"Megan is a treat to work with. She is always on top of what you need her to do and is quick to tell you any issues. She is equally as quick to let you know what she thinks of your work in a kind and tactful way. She has the ability to nudge you in the right direction if needed without making you feel like you did anything wrong."

~ Jessica Wolinski, Marketing Assistant at Patriot Auto & Truck Repair

"Megan Andrews has more than proven herself to be an outstanding media communications and marketing strategist. She has shown proficiency across a multitude of platforms, demonstrated impeccable leadership skills, is not afraid of taking initiative for new projects, and has worked tirelessly to ensure the growth of the Childhood Cancer Society.

During her time working for CCS, Megan became a pillar of the communications department and the team as a whole. She has been instrumental in our organization’s growth; through the creation of social media challenges and connections with various content creators, she has significantly increased user interaction and participation with our organization, as well as helped us to produce successful collaborations, further increasing brand awareness. Within the company, Megan is always on top of current projects and makes sure everyone has something to work on.

The graphics department works closely with the communications department when preparing posts for social media: graphics and illustrations are paired with post language created by social media account managers. Megan has demonstrated excellent writing skills, and her post language never fails to complement images they are meant to accompany.

In addition to her communication and marketing skills, her can-do attitude and positive personality makes her easy to work with and a natural team player. She is responsive to feedback, always willing to provide criticism when necessary, and her sense of humor is guaranteed to make workdays better.

Megan is an invaluable asset to any communications team; she is always ready to bring new ideas to the table and help push your company into the spotlight!"

~ Brandon Sharp, Co-Director Art Department at Childhood Cancer Society
